Introduction to Pilates for People with Spinal Fusions

Focus Exercise Video SF: Standing Tall with a Block or Ball

This video is one of the focus exercises for the week.  Try to repeat it 2-3 times before our next class together.

Standing Tall is an exercise that helps people with spinal fusions find axial elongation and height through the spine. The arms reach out to the side, facilitating global expansion. It’s a lovely way to feel tall, expanded, and decompressed. Standing Tall can start a movement session, end a finish a movement session, or both.

⭐ Pro tip: align your toes on the same imaginary line and try to center the block between your feet. This will help with any rotation and lateral shifting of the pelvis.

Inspiring health and happiness!
