Deep Tissue Shiatsu Massager
I’ve found that this massage tool is a nice substitute for in person massage and works well on my shoulders and neck, low back, and even calves. Massage is definitely a part of my ongoing self-care because it helps release tight muscles and restricted fascia.
Original McKenzie Roll
Keeping our low back and the soft tissues surrounding it happy is important! One of the ways that we can do this is by supporting the natural curve of the low back towards the front body (lordotic curve) while we sit. I recommend using a small or original roll, depending upon your size and other factors, to assist with this support.

OPTP Stretch Out Strap
Axial elongation is the foundation of working with scoliosis and spinal fusions. People use this strap to set up semi-hanging, utkatasana, or an elongated squat in a door when they do not have access to the Schroth wall ladder or a yoga wall. This is one of my favorite ways to actively decompress the spine. You will also need a door anchor and a dowel (below).

36″ x 1.25″ Dowel
Amazon and hardware stores sell dowels of different lengths and diameters. People use a dowel to set up semi-hanging, utkatasana, or an elongated squat in a door when they do not have access to the Schroth wall ladder or a yoga wall. This active decompression of the spine involves weight bearing on the dowel. Generally, a 1.25″ diameter dowel is ideal. The length of the dowel can run around 36″ unless you need to fit it into a suitcase then a shorter dowel may work better. You will also need a door anchor and OPTP Strap (above). Some people use a Power Guidance Pullup Assist Band as well (below).
